Your role in helping us shape the future:
U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. As a Programmatic Operations Lead, you will work closely with a cross-functional team to optimize our sales and marketing processes. You will support the sales leaders across the company as it relates to revenue reporting and identifying opportunities for revenue growth. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advertising Monetization, you will build strong, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, including sales, marketing, product, engineering, and C-level executives at U.S. News.
Are you up to the challenge?
Oversee presales work for Private Marketplace deals, from inventory forecasting to deal setup across Private Auction, Preferred Deal & Programmatic Guaranteed.
Manage mid- & post-flight PMP campaign oversight, from implementing optimizations to arranging wrap reports.
Build and maintain data visualization suites surfacing advertising revenue for internal teams and stakeholders
Oversee project management of new initiatives with advertising partners
Lead end-to-end integration of new ad tech partners
Coordinate with the billing monthly team to submit and reconcile revenue by partner.
Analyze reporting & develop yield-driving insights across partners, wrappers and environments
Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate troubleshooting integrations, launching new ad products and testing ad stack configurations
Execute on cutting-edge monetization opportunities surfaced by ad tech partners including Amazon, Microsoft, Google and The Trade Desk.
Present new business opportunities based on analysis of performance data
Leverage data unification tools to supply actionable insights with regard to industry trends
Conduct periodic training sessions to keep internal teams up-to-date on the digital advertising landscape
Establish & strengthen revenue partnerships by assisting with business development and sales activities while ensuring best-in-class client support.
Requirements
You should definitely have:
At least three years of experience in the digital advertising industry
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
Working knowledge of Google Ad Manager and analytics tools such as Looker Studio, Google Analytics, and Supermetrics
Experience working with ad tech platforms including SSPs, DSPs and DMPs
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to analyze data and present a clear & compelling action plan based on your findings
Experience managing first-party audience data, including identifying new first-party data sources and audience segmentation opportunities
Effective time management skills - ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize to meet necessary deadlines
Exceptional troubleshooting, A/B testing and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge and awareness of current programmatic and digital ad technology trends; remain up to speed on new in-platform betas and testing opportunities
Understanding of ad tagging and site taxonomy
Strong analytical skills and comfort with statistical methods for evaluating success, demonstrated by a track record within one or more business units.
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to manage stakeholders across diverse business units, including sales, marketing, product, and engineering.
It would be nice if you had:
Experience working within high-performing sales organizations.
Fluency with SQL and ability to write queries and join siloed data sets
Familiarity with programming languages such as javascript, CSS and HTML
Knowledge of oRTB protocol
Understanding of common web data structures such as JSON
Experience with system integrations, data ingestion & ETL

The anticipated base salary for this position is $75,000-$100,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Compensation details do not include bonus or revenue incentives, if applicable.
